a5c7b9f00b The Library has chosen a new group to help safeguard magical cursed artifacts throughout time and around the world. An art historian, a thief , a mathematician and a warrior are sent through the doorway to help bring back the others, who are protected by the Library from the evil recently released. A group of librarians sets off on adventures in an effort to save mysterious, ancient artifacts. Mainstream populist pablum. Basically a TV version of Indiana Jones with Librarians instead of Archaeologists. Rebecca Romijn is the typical modern girl power tough person. She lacks any sort of screen presence or charisma however. The fellow playing the Librarian was half decent but almost too manic to be relatable to. Cameos by Bob Newhart and Matt Frewer do nothing to save this show from mediocrity. The only bright point in the cast was Lindy Booth who gives a vulnerable and appealing turn. The show tries to push all the usual buttons to generate laughs or interest. In summary a typical modern day cynical and classless show. The pilot was great! I loved the librarian movies mainly because of the three main characters. They all were there in the pilot. I thought "wow" this is going to be great! The three apprentices I thought would be OK, an added addition. Then the three mains disappear and the show is on the three others. All three are totally flat. Boring, nothing exciting to watch. They just can't hold my interest. Bad writing, bad mix of characters. Their mentor is great, but the other three fail so miserably at holding my interest I finally bailed on the show after the 4th episode. Sorry folks, this show is a washout. Just won't hold my interest. Could have been so much better. At least put three interesting characters. Even same actors but put something interesting about them or something! Boring………..
