a5c7b9f00b The special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called "Big Hero 6." Big Hero 6 is another one of those recent Disney movies that I would call overrated. I don't think the movie is bad, I just think people kinda over glorified it, and I definitely feel it didn't deserve the Best Animated Feature Oscar. But again, I do not think this is a bad movie.

Lets start with the positives. The animation in this movie is great. There are a lot of moments that show the scale of some scenes amazingly, especially in a car chase near the middle of the movie.

The part of the movie that felt a little flimsy. Most of the supporting characters just seemed to be stereotypes, for example: The trendy character, the stoner type character, the hard core extreme character, etc. Well, everyone besides Baymax. Also, I wish there were more scenes where Baymax is at low battery, that was hilarious.

Also this next part of the review will contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie just skip to the final score.

The other thing that bugged me was the last act of the movie. When they were talking about the professors missing daughter, I thought that they were saying she died, which would have been a lot more effect on the viewer than what happens next. They find a way to get her out of the other dimension alive (even though in one scene it seemed like a month passed, which means she would've been in that dimension for a month without lack of oxygen). That kinda made the movie feel like there was no sense of consequence in the movie. Unless if you're the sympathetic bad guy, then you're ass can go to jail if you're in a Disney movie. Also, am I the only one who feels like the ending is a rip off of The Iron Giant. No? Just me? OK.

Anyways, Big Hero 6 was fun in some places but mostly underwhelming.

Final Score: 6/10 Whenever I have turned it for few seconds to check some moments, I just simply couldn't turn it off! Every random scene, seemed so good and amazingly animated that I had big trouble with stopping watching it. I have been holding myself from it for such long time… but no more! Let's see if it is really so good!

4 minutes - it starts out of blue, straight into action, good or bad? Confusing for sure!

8 minutes - amazing animation, high technology, robots and plenty of humour! What's there not to like!?

23 minutes - damn… that was a little shocking and sad for an animated film for kids…

32 minutes - hilarious, funny, adorable, cute and I have not idea what else but I love it!

1h 25minutes - it looks fabulous and the action is amazing too

It's really nice and kids will love it for sure, I am almost 30 years old and I liked it… should I say more?

tgchan's rating: 7/10 After establishing its fresh and relatable origin story, the movie gets bogged down with a relatively generic villain’s power-hungry schemes. Still, there’s enough that’s new and different about Big Hero 6 to get excited about, especially for those still too young for Marvel’s more intense live-action fare. John Lasseter is very supportive of the directors, and he won't force them to put out a sequel unless they have a story that [they're] really excited about. It has to feel like a story that really has to be told or deserves to be told. It can't just be cashing in on the success of a previous film.

In short, they have some interest in directing a sequel, but no story is being written so far. However, Disney stated that there would be Big Hero 6 The Series (2017) (2017) taking place after the movie. Only when the situation demands. While no specific reason to that is explained in the movie itself, it is however explained from the film crew that several characters such as Silver Samurai, Sunfire, etc. despite being part of the team in the original comic book couldn't appear in the movie due to copyright/licensing issues. A character named Yokai who uses and controls countless of Microbots. The person behind Yokai is Professor Robert Callaghan.
